Low cost heating

Heating bills have become a number one headache for most homes.

But that's not the case with Traditional Log Cabins for we can include solar panels into the design. The panels will provide you with a lot of the hot water you need for free.

Solar panels on a roof

They harness the power of light absorption - it's a complete myth they only work in hot temperatures and direct sunlight - and are a wonderful way of keeping your bills down.

The light is converted to heat and pumped directly into your hot water cylinder with a control so you can set the hot water temperature. It uses technology that has been working successfully in Europe for more than 20 years.

The hot water cylinder has two heat exchanger coils - one from the solar panels and the other from the boiler in the property. The solar panels usually provide up to 70% of the domestic hot water needed, but in your wooden home that could well be more.

Yet that's not all.

Your Traditional Log Cabins can also be fitted with air source heat pumps that convert the energy from the air outside into heat which is then circulated throughout the home. This highly efficient and quiet system has been proven to work in cold Scandinavian winters and Traditional Log Cabins will be among the very first to use this new cutting edge technology in the UK.

A similar system incorporates air to water heat pumps which convert the energy from the air outside into both heating and hot water. This can be used with an existing central heating system and is ideal for underfloor heating.

Stop press: Government grants may be available to part fund this work and VAT can be reduced to just 5% instead of the usual 17.5%.
